| 'HE MUST BECOME GREATER; I MUST BECOME LESS' JOHN 3:30 NIV An MP took his 8-year-old daughter to visit Westminster Abbey. The awesomeness of it overwhelmed the little girl. As she stood gazing up at the high ceiling her father said, 'Sweetheart, what are you thinking?' She said, 'Daddy, I was thinking how big you seem at home, and how small you look in here.' In God's presence, you might experience all kinds of things; love, happiness, acceptance. And sometimes you might just became aware of how little you are in comparison to Almighty God. God's presence has a way of humbling us. But what does that really mean? Humility is an amazing quality to have; it means that you're respectful of others, that you don't live your life trying to get every one to notice you; that you check out ways to help people, even those who aren't thankful. John the Baptist was the guy chosen to spread the news about Jesus coming. Loads of people grew to respect him and he had a load of groupies who would follow him around every where. But when Jesus turned up John had enough guts to step aside and let Jesus do His stuff. Listen: '"He must become greater; I must become less"' (John 3:30 NIV). It takes guts to be humble coz it won't always mean you get what you want. But, don't sweat it! God gets us humble for a reason. '"...God opposes the proud but favours the humble"' (1 Peter 5:5 NLT). A humble heart is like a flashing, bleeping signal on God's radar screen, and he looks for ways He can bless you and use you to play a big part in His plan and purpose. 1-Apr Sunday Palm Sunday *Matt 21:1- 16 *Ps 118:19- 29 "The Word 4U Today", UCB Phil." - |
